Powered by  900mAh rechargeable lithium polymer battery, it has a maximum output of 1,500 Lumens and a throw of 205 meters. Compared  to the PL-3, its light output has been increased by 15%, making it suitable for target practice, self-defense, and law enforcement.  This is also supplemented by a 300-lumen low setting that can be used in more situations. In addition, the users can switch the high brightness level between High1 (1500lm) and High2 (1000lm) by programming the maximum brightness they want at any  time. The Key-block on the rail mount can be adjusted to position the light on the rail, making it compatible with a wider range of  builds. A new setscrew provides a more solid mount and facilitates easy disassembly. The magnetic charging port of the PL-3R  can be magnetically connected to the remote pressure switch, which makes the PL-3R also suitable for Picatinny rails on long or short builds.
